How to Use the VIDBOX Software
The VIDBOX comes in a nice looking box with a CD which has drivers for the device, as well as the software. Upon opening the disc you’ll find a leaflet style quick start guide with clear instructions on how to install and use the program.
Once installed, the software will ask you to plug in your VIDBOX and then begin transferring analog footage into digital format. The program allows you to set the quality of your transferred files, as well as the destination folder for them. You can also select to convert the file to MP4 or a smaller format, and set the frame rate (NTSC will record at 30FPS and PAL at 25FPS).
During the transfer process, you’ll be able to watch the old footage in a small window on your computer screen. After the recording is complete, you can choose to save the video to a local hard drive or burn it to DVD. The program itself is a little basic in terms of functionality, but it’s very easy to use and has all the features you need for transferring home movies from your VHS tapes.
If you encounter problems when trying to use the VIDBOX, check that your computer meets the system requirements listed in the product manual or on the web site. Also, ensure you are logged in with an administrator user account during installation; using a standard user account may cause the software to install incorrectly or not at all.
